Our first round of Bourbon Barrels that we’ve distilled on the Column stills at Jeptha Creed Distillery are hitting two years old! This is so exciting for us, and means we’ve reached the Straight Bourbon category! We are still letting our bourbon continue to mature, but we are ecstatic that the waiting game for our 4-grain bourbon is almost over. Jeptha Creed will have a Straight Bourbon available in spring of 2019!
For our fresh Bourbon fans, Straight bourbon category has additional legal requirements beyond those of regular bourbon. Straight bourbon must be at least two years old. If it’s older than two but younger than four years, it must carry an age statement, and that age statement must reflect the youngest bourbon in the bottle. Finally, straight bourbon may not contain added colorings or flavorings.
